While you may not want to compare your smile to your bathroom, there are probably many items in the bathroom made from porcelain. If you clean all of the sinks and toilets in your house with regularity, they remain sparkling white. The same can be said for veneers, but you do need to be aware of the daily wear and tear you put your new smile through.
You Are what you Eat
Do you drink coffee every single morning? Do you drink espresso based drinks, hot or cold, throughout the day? Are you a big iced tea fan? Or perhaps you are known to deal with your afternoon lull by fueling up on a nice big cola. If you unwind at night with red wine, eat sushi dipped in soy sauce several times a week, love French fries in ketchup, keep spaghetti with marinara sauce in the regular menu rotation, or anything along these lines, you are risking staining your veneers just the same as if you poured these things into your sink all the time and never did more than rinse them with water. You must brush your veneers twice a day, just like you would your natural smile, to keep them clean and stain free.
