Do You Have Questions About Porcelain Veneers?

We have an array of cosmetic treatments with one goal in mind: Help you obtain a smile you can feel proud to show the world. In addition to teeth whitening, which we discussed last week, we also have thin restorations known as veneers. Do you have questions about porcelain veneers?

Frequently Asked Questions About Veneers

Question: When do you recommend these thin restorations?

Answer: We may suggest them to alter either the shade or shape of your teeth (or both). We can mask permanent teeth stains, correct chipped or malformed teeth, and even close embarrassing gaps between teeth. We can also correct the appearance of misalignment as well.

Question: How do you create and place them?

Answer: We first need to remove a small layer of enamel to make room for them. We then take detailed impressions, which will be used at a dental lab by an expert ceramist to create the veneers. Afterward, we place them during a follow up visit using a powerful bonding agent.

Question: Are minimal prep veneers different?

Answer: Yes! Since they are substantially thinner, we don’t need to remove any enamel, preserving more of your natural tooth structure. Some patients prefer them due to this fact.

Question: How do I keep them bright?

Answer: They are made using porcelain, a lifelike and stain-resistant material. However, you should still good care of your smile to keep them right (and protect your natural teeth from decay and gingivitis). You need to brush your teeth daily and make time to floss before bed each night. We also suggest scheduling a cleaning visit every six months.
