What Benefits Does Invisalign Offer?

Instead of metal orthodontics, we offer our patients with misalignment a more esthetically pleasing solution: Invisalign clear aligners. Made from clear plastic, Invisalign offers a number of benefits over traditional metal orthodontics.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign’s Benefits

Question: Will the aligners be noticeable?

Answer: Barely! Since they are made from a clear plastic, they are practically invisible when worn. Adult and teen patients really appreciate this aspect, as a mouthful of metal will often turn away patients requiring orthodontics.

Question: Do they fit comfortably?

Answer: Yes! Each one will be custom-made. We begin by taking detailed digital impressions of your smile. These, along with x-ray images and photographs, will be used by the Invisalign lab to create a series of aligners. They will fit comfortably as you move from one set to another over the course of your treatment, saving you the gum and cheek irritation often encountered with braces.

Question: Can I remove the aligners before I eat?

Answer: Yes! Being able to remove them prior to meals means you don’t have to change how you eat. However, if you’re drinking soda or eating foods high in sugar, rinsing your mouth with water before placing the aligners back in is preferable. Removable aligners also mean you can have an easier time brushing and flossing your teeth, which helps you keep your smile healthy during treatment.

Question: How long does treatment last?

Answer: That will depend on a number of factors, such as the severity of misalignment and the patients age. However, on average adults require about a year and teens up to 18 months. If you have any questions about Invisalign or correcting misalignment, then please give our team a call today.
