When you lose a tooth there’s a risk that a gap in your smile can lead to surrounding teeth drifting, causing misalignment to form and with that, a higher risk of tooth decay and gum disease, as uneven teeth may thorough brushing and flossing difficult.   2. True. When we place a dental bridge, we can replace between one and three teeth in a row. We often recommend this option for addressing minor tooth loss. With proper care and attention, your new prosthetic can last between 10 and 15 years.
  3. True. We first prepare the teeth on either side of the gap, removing a small amount of structure. We then take detailed impressions, which are used to design the prosthetic. The bridge consists of the replacement teeth, or pontics, with crowns on either end. We place the crowns onto the prepared teeth, securing your new ones.
